BESA, the British Educational Suppliers Association is a trade association representing over 300 members which include manufacturers of educational equipment. BESA offers information and advice in the educational supply indistry, but does not supply products itself.

The total turnover of BESA members is in excess of £1.8 billion. BESA members offer buyers peace of mind by subscribing to the following code of practice:

- Products are of a proper quality, safe and suitable for educational use.
- Products comply with current British safety regulations.
- Products and services are fairly and properly described in catalogues and advertising materials.
- A high standard of customer service is offerd and complaints are dealt with promptly.
- Public liabilty insurance is carried at a level appropriate to the range and value of products and services.
- Representatives abide by the BESA Representative's Code of Practice.
